Beta notice: This policy describes the intended data practices for the current Navelle closed beta. Features, service providers, and practices may change as the beta develops. Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy.
1. Overview
Navelle is an AI-powered personalized storytelling application that can generate story text, cover artwork, persistent series memory, and text-to-speech narration audio. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information Navelle may process, why it is used, how it is stored, and the choices available to users.
2. Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, Navelle may process information you provide directly, including:
- Story ideas, prompts, genre choices, character details, world details, goals, relationships, continuity notes, and related creative content.
- Feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and messages sent to Navelle.
- Contact information you voluntarily provide when requesting beta access or support.
3. AI-generated and synthesized content
Navelle may create AI-generated story text, summaries, series memory, and cover artwork, as well as synthesized narration audio, metadata, exported files, and local backups. Unless a feature states otherwise, the app is designed to save the user’s story library and related files locally on the user’s device.
4. How information is processed
To provide generation features, Navelle may transmit the minimum information needed for a request to third-party infrastructure and artificial-intelligence service providers. This may include a story prompt, selected settings, relevant series memory, generated text, or narration text. The exact information sent depends on the feature being used.
Navelle may use providers such as cloud hosting, text-generation, image-generation, text-to-speech, crash-reporting, and application-distribution services. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Local storage and backups
Saved chapter text, story memory, series details, audio files, cover artwork, settings, and backups may be stored locally on the device. A local backup may contain creative content and media files. Users are responsible for protecting backup files they create or share.
Backend credentials, OpenAI keys, AWS credentials, and temporary generated files are not intended to be included in user-created backups.
6. Diagnostics and beta feedback
During the beta, Navelle may collect limited technical information needed to identify crashes, errors, device compatibility problems, and performance issues. This may include app version, device or operating-system information, error logs, and crash diagnostics. Navelle does not intend to use diagnostics to build advertising profiles.
7. How information is used
Information may be used to:
- Generate and narrate stories, create cover artwork, and maintain story continuity.
- Save, restore, organize, and export the user’s story library.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the beta.
- Respond to support requests and beta feedback.
- Prevent abuse, protect service reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
8. Sharing of information
Navelle does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, process user requests, host infrastructure, deliver generated content, diagnose technical issues, or comply with law.
9. Data retention
Locally saved content remains on the user’s device until the user deletes it, clears app data, removes the app, or replaces it through a device-management process. Temporary server-side data may be retained only as needed to complete a request, maintain security, diagnose errors, or meet provider and legal requirements.
10. Your choices
- You may delete locally saved story data through available in-app controls.
- You may choose whether to create or share a local backup.
- You may avoid submitting sensitive personal information in story prompts or feedback.
- You may contact Navelle with privacy questions or requests.
11. Children’s privacy
The closed beta is not intended for children under 13. Minors should participate only with the permission and supervision required by applicable law and the beta’s enrollment rules.
12. Security
Navelle uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to a developing beta product. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should not submit highly sensitive information through story prompts, feedback, or support messages.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Navelle adds features, changes providers, expands availability, or responds to legal requirements. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when the policy changes.
